Object or Artifact: Curio Cabinets and TV stand

Listen, we know this stuff looks cool, but none of it is valuable. For real. We are just very good storytellers, so don't steal our old stuff.

History and Details Regarding

Curio Cabinets and TV stand

Jenny bought this furniture, which was originally an entertainment wall with bridge and middle shelf, from Reese Hapner of Stafford for $350. Jared picked up the furniture with his friend, Bruce Hilsinger, in Bruce’s big truck, but the furniture was so big that it took two trips to move it.

The piece is solid wood and very high quality with surprisingly thoughtful features. It has previously been in a millionaire’s home in Berryville, Virginia, but that family needed something larger and sold it to the Hapners. Originally Jenny planned to cut the backs off all the pieces and make built-ins that would surround the exterior den windows, but after consideration, she decided that since she needed a tv stand and the wood was close to the right color, it made sense to break apart the unit and use it as stand-alone items. The curios light up and are perfect for storing antique books and vintage toys.
