Object or Artifact: Waterfall Vanity

Listen, we know this stuff looks cool, but none of it is valuable. For real. We are just very good storytellers, so don't steal our old stuff.

History and Details Regarding

Waterfall Vanity

I bought this dresser from Angela Barnett in a Stephens City. The dresser had been a gift from her ex, who bought it as a gift for her. She had used it regularly as a makeup take but when the relationship broke up, the dresser was put in storage. I do not think the mirro is original to the bottom because of the blue color, but Angela said it was. I bought it from her for $75.

The waterfall vanity needed a little refinishing on top from having makeup bottles stored on it, so I used RestoreAFinish to spiff it up. There were a few loose pieces of veneer, and I glued those back on. One drawer face was loose, so I claimed and glued that into place. We put the dresser in Uncle John’s room to replace the dresser and tables that had been in that space.

The style of this dresser is Art Deco. It has original Bakelite pulls. The dresser has a few places of broken veneer, but it is in good shape otherwise.
